Sons and Daughters of Lite
Formed in Oakland in the early 1970s the Sons and Daughters of Lite released an album called "Let The Sunshine In" .There music is an Afro-Latin-Jazz fusion of soul, funk and heavy percussion. The title track became a jazz dance classic, courtesy of heavy play by top UK DJ Gilles Peterson.
Re-Release in 2000 on Luv n' Haight / Cargo.
Original band leader Basuki Bala was acompanied by percussionist Babatunde. Trumpet player Marty Payne and vocalists Jeanne Cuffey-Tatum, Kalamu Chache and Lakiba Pittman.
